Rich Lopez (photo)Our members join family and friends in mourning the loss of Rich Lopez, Western Colorado Latino Chamber of Commerce founder and past-president.

In 2011, after many years as a successful businessman in Greeley, Colorado, Rich Lopez moved to the Grand Junction area and immediately set about doing what he did best – bringing people together.

Upon discovering that there was no Latino chamber of commerce on the Western Slope, Rich identified and sought out a core group of business people and, within a very few months, the Western Colorado Latino Chamber of Commerce was officially launched.

Rich was a visionary, a bridge builder, and a master of the art of thinking big. Despite an ongoing battle with cancer, he found ways to bring local law enforcement and Latinos together, co-founded a bilingual newspaper, and continued to pursue his dream of establishing a Latino credit union and plaza in Grand Junction.

Rest in peace, Rich, knowing yours was a life well-lived and that your legacy will live on for many years to come.

La muerte se ha llevado su cuerpo,
pero su espíritu siempre estará con nosotros,
por siempre en nuestros corazones.
