The Western Colorado Latino Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the 1st Annual Western Colorado Hispanic Advancement Award. The award will be presented September 16th at the kickoff event for Hispanic Heritage Month and will be held at the Mesa County Library.
The award will be given to a person who has advanced the Hispanic culture through volunteering, promoting employment opportunities, increasing cultural awareness, cultivating educational opportunities, and/or promoting economic development for the Hispanic community on the Western Slope. Nominations are open to all persons over the age of 18 currently residing in the Colorado Western Slope region.
To nominate an individual, please send a nomination letter to the Western Colorado Latino Chamber of Commerce at
P.O. Box 733, Fruita, CO 81521. The nomination letter should include a detailed description of how the nominee has positively impacted the Western Colorado Hispanic community, as well as contact information for the nominee.
Nominations will be accepted until September 1, 2013.
